Agolde at Tuchuzy

Agolde makes denim through a vintage lens. The label is designed in Los Angeles, and it builds modern jeans on classic Americana shapes.

The result is denim that feels lived-in from the first wear. Not distressed for the sake of it. Just soft, easy and already yours.

We stock it at Tuchuzy because it meets the standard we have held since 1995. It earns its place in the edit.

Why the denim wears well

Good jeans come down to three things: the fabric, the wash and the rise. Get those right and everything else follows.

The fabrics here are premium, with considered stretch and recovery. That means the jeans hold their shape across a full day. They will not bag out at the knee by lunchtime.

The washes run from crisp indigo through to soft, sun-bleached mid-tones. They sit naturally against an Australian palette, which is part of why the label works so well here.

And the denim ages properly. It fades where you move. It softens where it creases. A pair you wear often will look better in a year than it does today.

The cuts, explained

Each silhouette does a different job. Here is how to think about them.

The Low Slung Baggy. The cut the label is best known for. It sits low on the hip and runs baggy through a straight leg, with a longer inseam that pools softly over a sandal or a sneaker. It reads as effortless rather than undone. The volume is the whole point, so let it be roomy.

The straight leg. The cornerstone. Clean-lined and high-waisted, it works because it does not overcorrect. It sits where it should, moves with the body, and reads as polished whether you dress it up or keep it plain.

The low curve. A softly curved, low-rise fit that follows the body rather than cutting straight down it. Quietly flattering, and easier to wear than a true low rise.

The relaxed vintage fit. Softer through the leg, with a genuine broken-in feel. This is the pair you reach for on a Saturday without thinking.

Cut-off shorts. Raw hems, high rise, easy through the thigh. A summer staple in Bondi, worn straight from the beach to lunch.

How to wear it

Denim is only as good as what you put with it. The trick is contrast and proportion.

If the jean is loose, keep the top close. If the jean is clean and structured, you can afford something softer above. It is a simple rule, and it almost always works.

  • Low Slung Baggy with a fitted tank. The volume of the leg needs a close top to anchor it. Try our Chosen tanks — they were cut for exactly this.
  • Straight leg with a blazer. Two structured pieces create a polished tension. It reads as intentional rather than thrown together.
  • High rise with a linen shirt. Tuck it loosely at the front and leave the rest out. This is coastal dressing at its easiest.
  • Worn-in denim with a heavyweight sweatshirt. A layered look that carries through the cooler months.
  • Cut-offs with a knit and sandals. The contrast between a soft knit and a raw hem is one of the most reliable pairings there is.

Made responsibly

The denim is made with eco-friendly materials and responsible production methods. That matters, but it is not the only reason to buy it.

The real sustainability story is simpler. These are jeans you keep. A well-made pair worn for years will always beat a cheap pair replaced every season.

Agolde jeans: your questions answered

What size should I take in Agolde jeans?

Start with your usual denim size. Rigid denim runs snug at first and gives as you wear it, so if it feels firm but you can move, that is usually right. Stretch denim does the opposite — it relaxes across the day, so take the smaller size if you are between two.

Should I size up in the Low Slung Baggy?

No. The looseness is designed in. Sizing up loses the line the cut was built around. Take your true size and let the volume do its work.

Where is the Low Slung Baggy meant to sit?

Low on the hip, below the natural waist. If you are pulling it up to your waist, it is fighting the shape. Let it sit where it falls and pair it with a top that has some structure.

Do Agolde jeans stretch out over time?

They soften and mould to you, which is the point. But the fabrics are chosen for recovery, so they hold their shape rather than sagging. A pair will feel roomier by evening and return close to its original fit after a wash.

How often should I wash my denim?

Rarely. Every ten wears is plenty for most pairs. Turn them inside out, wash cold, and hang them to dry. A hot dryer is the fastest way to shrink a leg and harden the fabric.

What is the difference between a high rise and a low rise?

The rise is where the jean sits on your body, and it changes the whole silhouette. A high rise sits at the natural waist and elongates the leg. A low rise sits on the hip and relaxes the entire look. Choose the rise before you worry about the leg.

Do you ship Agolde outside Australia?

Yes. We ship worldwide from Bondi.
